  • Kapok Tree Persuasion Speeches

    Inspired by The Great Kapok Tree Year One have been writing persuasion speeches to stop people chopping down trees in the rainforest and today they had the opportunity to record themselves as real animals!

  • Wonderful workshop with author

    He read a story called Poo in the zoo.

    It was amazing seeing his drawing today!

    He drew a picture of a rabbit and a mole and a naughty wolf.

    It was wonderful and we got to meet a real author.

     

    We are looking forward to writing our own stories and being an author.

    Author & illustrator, Steve Smallman, visited Whitestone today. Everyone was so excited in anticipation of his visit & he didn't disappoint. Steve animatedly told some of his stories & gave us a masterclass in sketching characters.

  • Wonderful workshop

    Wed 08 Mar 2017 Mr Yeo and Class 6

    This morning was the best day ever!

    We got to see real Kapok and piranha teeth!

    We learnt that in the rainforest you weave stuff out of grass.

    Also we did a little dance pretending to be monkeys and birds while Liz and Devinder played special drums.

     

    We can't wait until our final performance in front of our families.

     

  • Governors join the WBD fun

    The Governors were very impressed by the challenge provided to children on World Book Day and even more so with the way the children rose to the occasion.

    All children and staff looked AMAZING in their character costumes. The WIS governors joined in and shared their favourite childhood books.no
