Design and Technology at Whitestone
At Whitestone Infant School, Design and Technology plays a very important role in the curriculum. Design and Technology is primarily a practical subject where children can design, make and evaluate products that solve real and relevant problems. It inspires children to develop an innovative, questioning mind where they not only draw on other subject knowledge but also apply skills in other areas. The curriculum enables all children to acquire new technical vocabulary, skills and techniques, especially making links with Science and Mathematics. Through careful evaluation of their own and others’ design and technology, they develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world.
