At Whitestone Infant School, we recognise the importance of promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing to our children and their families. We aim to create an open culture around the discussion of mental health and wellbeing and to empower our children be able to regulate their emotions.
We have a Senior Mental Health leader, Mrs Green, and two Mental Health First Aiders in school – Mrs Mathieson and Mrs Hewitt. As a school, we work with the Warwickshire Mental Health in Schools Team. More information about them can be found out here.
By implementing the Zones of Regulation curriculum as part of our approach to mental health, we aim to teach our pupils to identify emotions in themselves and others and provide them with bank of strategies to help regulate their emotions and improve their wellbeing.
